Quickstart
This guide takes you from a new Kumoto account to a first deployment. It assumes you already have a server that you can administer. Read Prepare a server first if you are not ready to install the agent.
1. Create a project
In Projects, select New project and give it a clear name. A project is the home for its infrastructure graph, draft changes, and deployment history.
2. Add a server
In Servers, select Add server. On the new server screen, SSH to the machine and run the generated join command. The command is unique to that server; wait until its status shows that it is connected before using it as a deployment target.
3. Add infrastructure
Open the project and select Add. Start with an application component such as Node.js, Laravel, Static, or Docker. Then add any backing services it needs, such as PostgreSQL or Valkey.
Use links to describe dependencies. For example, link a database to an application so Kumoto can provide compatible connection values. Store application configuration as component variables rather than committing it into the repository.
4. Review and deploy
Select Review and deploy to inspect the draft diff. Check the components, target servers, variables, and domains being changed, then start the rollout.
Follow stages, tasks, and logs in the project’s Deployments tab. The first deployment may take longer because Kumoto prepares the target server environment for the project.
Next, connect source control so repository-backed applications can build and deploy from your code.
